COVID: Death toll mounts to 164 as 4th patient dies in JK in a day | KNO

Jammu, July 11 (KNO): The death toll due to the Novel Coronavirus has mounted to 164 in Jammu and Kashmir as four more patients died due to the virus on Saturday in the Union Territory, officials said. Officials said that a COVID positive case from Bari Brahmana area of Jammu died in Government Medical College and Hospital today. “A man who was tested positive a few days back died today morning,” Medical Superintendent of GMC Jammu, Dr. Dara Singh told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO). Moreover, Dr Salim Tak, Medical Superintendent at CD hospital told KNO that a 45-year-old man from Trehgam who was referred from SMHS after testing positive for COVID-19 on 04 July died at CD hospital on Saturday. The patient was very sick and was suffering from bilateral pneumonia, hypertension and other ailments, he said. Earlier, two more patients including a 24-year-old woman from Anantnag and 77-year-old man from Hyderpora Srinagar had died at SMHS and SKIMS Soura respectively. With four more deaths, the death toll due to COVID-19 in J&K has reached to 164 including 148 from Kashmir and 16 from Jammu division—(KNO)
